I know this might come as a shock to you, but I am *gasp* overweight. Not just pleasantly plump or fluffy – I’m what the doctors have rather frighteningly referred to as Super Morbidly Obese. How’s that for a cutesy name?
Well, I’ve struggled with weight issues literally my entire life. Ok, so there was this one time, in first grade, when Mrs. Durschimer said that my mom wasn’t feeding me enough and I was too thin. But I promise you, I was not!
I was the smallest of my mother’s babies, but I quickly made up for that. I remember how proud my mom was when she described how picky my other sisters were about their food, but that I was a great eater. I would eat anything that she gave me. And I was the queen of the clean plate club. Well, the queen is ready to be dethroned!
I am embarking on an adventure of epic proportions…and that is not a weight crack. I started by auditioning for NBC’s hit television show, The Biggest Loser. But I’m not going to just sit around and wait for the call. (Even though I am SURE that the call is coming!) I’ve decided to start the process BEFORE I get out to The Ranch. So, in preparation I’ve been doing a little research. A friend of mine told me about this man who made a documentary called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and I was intrigued. I’m not a fan of fad diets. Who am I kidding? I’m not a fan of ANY diets! But I have to admit that Reboot Your Life sounds like something worth looking into…for the detox properties at the very least and for the potential weight loss at the very most. So I went to my doctor today to find out what her thoughts were on the topic and she is all for it.
This means that for my very first Weight Loss Wednesday, I’m making a promise to you (is there anybody out there, still?) that I will begin the recommended 15-day Reboot Entry Program one week from today. You have to take a week to prepare for the fast, otherwise I would start now. I will keep you posted and include photos and document the progress of the fast over the next three weeks. Keep your eyes peeled, I’m even thinking about doing a video blog! *YIPES*
Well, that’s about all for now. I’m actually excited about this and I know I’m gonna need the support and encouragement from my friends. I have a long way to go – more than 200 pounds, but I know I can do it. I’m ready!
